Pre-Prep 2 (Age 4 – 5 years)

Children in this year learn the skills needed to become strong and confident individuals who are capable of learning and achieving. Understanding that every child is unique, we aim to foster an environment that allows each member of the class to develop their individual talents while learning to collaborate with others and form positive relationships.

The children are introduced to the seven areas of learning and development. The first three of these – social and emotional development, physical development and language – allow children to develop quickly in response to relationships and experiences. The next four areas are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and, finally, Expressive Arts and Design. These include essential skills and knowledge to ensure that children have the best possible start to their learning journey.

Pre-Prep 3 (Age 5 – 6years)

PP3, or Year One, is the final class in the Pre-Prep Unit. At this level children have shown growth in all aspects of development, whether physical, cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, moral, or spiritual.

Building on this foundation, we now expand their repertoire of skills and concepts that will prepare them for the transition to prep school. Our principal learning areas are mathematics, literacy, Scripture, and ‘Understanding the World’, a subject that encompasses geography, science and history. This final area gives us the basis for our theme project, which changes from term to term.
