Pastoral Care

Pastoral

Cavina’s small size and family atmosphere are among the school’s great strengths. There is an intimate bond between pupils and teachers, who all go out of their way to give each child the individual care needed to allow them to thrive.

The senior leadership team and form teachers monitor all pupils’ academic and personal progress, ensuring that each child is given the encouragement they need to thrive. In addition, children in Year 8 (Upper VI) as well as pupils identified as needing a little extra support can choose an additional teacher mentor who will meet them as needed. Some pupils also like to drop into the sanatorium to have a chat with our nurse if they feel they need an additional kindly ear to hear them.

Professional counsellors, who work in conjunction with our learning support department, are also available.
